Folks who live in the northern states rely on a groundhog to determine how long the winter will continue before the first signs of Spring. Down here in the South, we can tell by the early dogwood blooms, greening of the grass, and budding azaleas. Confirmation that Spring has sprung is when the bluebirds arrive!
