Nature Scenes

Few things are as serene as a seldom-traveled country road, protected by a canopy of oak trees, emptying into a field of cotton ready for picking at the end of a dirt path. It’s a place where some can recall images of childhood, walking barefoot, carrying a burlap sack for a day of backbreaking labor under a hot summer sun in rural Georgia.

This scene along a dirt road in southwest Georgia’s Baker County is somewhat reminiscent of photos of historic Wormsloe Plantation near Savannah.

(The Enterprise welcomes your photographs of interesting scenes from our readers’ travels and special occasions).

Few things are more majestic than a summer sunset. Pictured here is a view of the sunset over an Evans County pond.
