Dwight C. Cason, 66, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21 at his residence. He was born November 7, 1950 to James Harry and Redetha Bath Cason and lived in this area all of his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from the civil service at Ft. Stewart. He was a bus driver for Tattnall and Evans County for many years. He loved to hunt, fish and farm; owning and operating Beards Creek Farms for over 40 years and Effingham Produce in Springfield for 7 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Catherine Weathers; brothers, Jolly, Robbie Lee, James and Kyle Cason. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Cason of Glennville; children, Ronnie Cason (Rhiannon) of Hagan, Curtis Cason of Glennville; granddaughter, Carolyn Cason of Glennville; brothers, Larry Cason of Glennville, Roger Cason of Springfield; sisters, Virginia Bragg of Midway and Juanita Williams of Glennville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Brannen officiating. Burial will follow in the Beards Creek Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Ray, Gary Ray, Danny Durrence, Fred “Bubba” Longgrear, Bobby Kennedy and Mike Lamb. Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville is in charge of the arrangements.
