Reduction based on closure or consolidation of convenience sites
While the fire fee will increase $5 for 2018, a reduction in Evans County’s solid waste fee will reduce the total user fee amount charged to county taxpayers next year by $8. The user fee for fire services, solid waste and ambulance service will be $259 as opposed to the current $267.
County commissioners adopted user fee rates for 2018 at their monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 6, as follows: Ambulance fee – $60 (no change), Fire fee – $60, Solid waste fee – $139 (reduced from $152).
Supposedly, the solid waste fee will decrease $13 due to the closure of three dump sites in the county. But, commissioners have not formally voted to close the sites, although it’s been discussed at several meetings in the last year. Reduction based on closure or consolidation of convenience sites
